Children's Uplift Project

The Children's Uplift Project works to remove the barriers of illiteracy from the lives of our most vulnerable children with the help of teachers, social workers, community development assistants, volunteers, mentors, parents and role models. The main goal is to:

  • · To help children develop a strong literacy background from their earliest age
  • · Improving Literacy Skills
  • · Foster a Reading Culture by Involving Parents
  • · Nurture Self-Sufficiency and Productivity
  • · Create self-esteem in children

The programmes cater for 500 children aged between 2 years up to Grade 4. By the time they reach Grade 4, they should be able to read, count and do simple mathematical calculations. Children are given the chance to explore their talents through books reading and our enrichment programmes.

Parents are also engaged in this programme for them to join their children’s journey to Literacy. HRT would like to make reading a norm at both HRT and children’s homes. Parents are encouraged to read to little children for them to develop the love for reading.

Please donate to this worthy cause.

HRT is asking for donations to be able to purchase more reading books and project material. Please remember, no donation is considered small, every cent counts. We need funds to develop our children to build their future, hence education is key.
